Meet the Director
Dr. Marlon Murray
Dr. Marlon B. Murray is a life-long resident of Tuscaloosa and graduate of Tuscaloosa County High School. He attended Berry College earning a Bachelor’s degree in Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance and he was the 1996 North West, Ga Tip-Off Club Basketball Player of the Year. He earned his Master’s from Jacksonville State University. He also earned his certification in Education Administration and Supervision from the University of Alabama and an Education Specialist degree from the University of West Alabama in Instructional Leadership. He completed a Doctorate from the University of West Alabama in Rural Education. He has always had an interest and active engagement in youth athletics and rural communities.
Dr. Murray began his professional education career as a Health and Wellness teacher at Coosa High School in Rome, Georgia in August of 1997. Since that time, he has served as a Physical Education teacher at Lloyd Wood Middle School, Driver’s Education teacher at Tuscaloosa County High School, Health teacher at Paul W. Bryan High School, Assistant Principal/Athletic Director at Northridge High School and Northside Middle School. In 2014, he assumed the role of Principal of Davis-Emerson Middle School. Dr. Murray is the former Administrator of the Northport Career Tech Annex on the campus of Tuscaloosa County High School.
Dr. Murray is currently the Director of Career Technical Education/Workforce Development of the Hale County School System.
